Hand-built over the course of eight months, Patrick's Irish Pub finally opened its doors in February 2009 with 15 beers on tap and the mission to create a sort of social/conversational space. Over the 7 years in business, a passion has developed for the art behind brewing and I work really hard to find those rarer (unicorn) products and obtain them. In today's beer bar culture, 31 drought lines put us at a mid range quantity-wise selection, however come to Patrick's and see for yourself the relatively higher ratio of super interesting beers to the relatively more common ones. If selection quantity is ever in doubt, the dedicated, temperature-controlled beer cellar in the basement houses an expansive collection of rare and vintage beers, which brings the total number to nigh 150.
With the exception of a permanent Irish Nitro Stout, and some exceptional local award winning sessionable beers, all our products change with every keg. Local brewers Wiley Roots, Weldwerks and Crabtree can always be found on tap, and Crooked Stave and Greenflash also have permanent handles. Beers can rotate quite quickly so that is why we post a real time list online, but follow our twitter feed @patricksgreeley to follow the beers as we tap them. To maintain the integrity of the product we leave no keg tapped beyond one month.
We are grateful to have some excellent traditional musicians playing on a weekly basis. The Irish Session has been at Patrick's since the beginning and I can't recommend the experience enough. The tradition comes from pubs in Ireland where friends gather with their instruments for an informal "folk session" and this occurs every Thursday night. Recently a Blue Grass Session has become established every Saturday night, and revolves around the same idea of friends getting together and making music.
After beer, whiskey is our next strength. More development to come in January; at the moment we have about 60 whiskeys. Explore recent arrivals: A.D.
